Got a good one!
A few good ones, actually. Plus, autumn retreats (spaces are filling fast) and links to wellness articles. OH! And a little news about the moon! Read on....
Hi friends,
This one’s gonna be short and sweet!
1. Eye Candy: I recently got the artwork for the deck that will be published with The Night School for Young Mystics this summer. I’ve been so lucky with my covers, and this one was no exception!
The book world is strange and wonderful… and sometimes brutal. An author friend (multi published, award winning, best selling) recently posted that she’s having trouble getting her publisher interested in her next proposal because her last book didn’t sell as well as expected. From the outside, authoring seems glamorous, but from the inside I can tell you it’s contract work and, unless your name is Stephen King, us authors are always a bit worried about getting the next deal.
I just finished a kick-ass proposal for a book you are absolutely going to want to read if you have ever grappled with finding your meaning and purpose, or if you are looking for a sense of the sacred in your own life. If you want to help me get my next book into your hands, the very best thing you can do is purchase my last one!
A reader recently posted on my Facebook page “Letting Magic In is the first book I have read cover to cover in years.” Try it, you might like it!
Retreat with me! The January writing retreat was amazing! There are a few more opportunities to work with me this year. I’ve added a northeast retreat since I know so many of you live up that way.

I’ve posted a few articles about wellness and ear issues. I don’t want to flood your inboxes so will send links to this type of article in these news & notes emails.
Please, please, please share these with anyone you know with Ménière's disease, vestibular migraines, vertigo, tinnitus, or Covid ear. It’s so hard to find information and people are really suffering.

Finally, it was amazing to chat with each of you who shared in Tell Me Something True two weeks ago. Being able to meet each other where we’re at is a gorgeous skill I want to continue to cultivate in this online space. Plus, the sense of community on that post kept me lit up for a week! THIS is work worth doing.
I’ve been thinking about when we should do Tell Me Something True. Should it be a Sunday thing like the old Sunday tea emails or does it have a different rhythm?
It occurred to me that this type of community time would be a lovely way to mark the new and full moons, a way to remember the inhale and exhale of our lives. With the new moon we ask ourselves: what do we want to begin and grow? With the full, after which the moon wanes, we will focus on what we want to release.
We will start this on Monday—both an eclipse and a new moon. To make sure it’s a safe sharing space, this will be only for paid subscribers.
See you for the new moon—
xx Maia
Oooh the new moon and full moon idea sounds interesting…
What a gorgeous cover! I love it!
Also love the idea of marking new and full moons with Tell Me Something True ❤️
