Something true: I think I found the realest of magic and a counterweight to chaos.
Let's use the full moon to build a web of connection and community by sharing what's true in our lives right now. I'll go first....
Normally I go to bed around ten which means that, by nine, my contacts are out, my bra is off, a tatty t-shirt is on, and my phone is shut down for the night. I’m pretty particular about this routine. During that last hour before bed, I make my list for the next day, attempting to empty my mind of anything that might give me busy-brain, which, we all know, is the number one enemy of a good night’s sleep.
But the last few nine o’clocks, instead of being cosseted with a good book and cup of tea, I’ve been zipping from the pond to the labyrinth, wielding a glowing red flashlight like a laser pointer. Watch your step! I chirp, illuminating roots and garden stairs for the flock of friends and acquaintances arriving right about the time I’d normally be sighing out of my day clothes. I’m not gonna pretend these nightly incursions don’t make me grumble—I’m a Taurus moon, after all; I’m fond of both my routines and creature comforts.
But as the world becomes more divided and chaotic, it seems we need larger doses of wonder as a counterweight. My mountain home is providing more than a little magic this full moon. And, as custodian of this little patch, it feels like my duty to share it. So, when nine pm rolls around, instead of brushing my teeth, I pull on my sneakers and wander into the swelling dark.
