I’m not a high-brow about my shows: by 8pm, I want to be done thinking for the day. But I also don’t want to feel like I’ve completely wasted my evening or filled my brain with dreck. So these are Goldilocks suggestions: not too smart, not too trashy, hopefully just right!
Wheel of Time
Need an escape? Then this one (might!) be for you. Based on the fantasy series of the same name by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson, Wheel of Time offers a rich and storied realm navigating prophesied destruction… or redemption. Pass the popcorn!
Paradise
While this post-apocalyptic political murder mystery requires the willing suspension of disbelief, it rewards with thought provoking undercurrents that led Andrew and me into some interesting side eddies. We found ourselves discussing society, culture, climate change, and how the heck you create a perfectly packaged cookie in a %$8!l7^ (sorry, that last word would have been a total spoiler!).
Four Seasons
Adapted from an 80’s movie, Four Seasons follows the relationships of a group of middle-aged friends. The series is laid out seasonally, with each season getting two episodes. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed spring and summer and am looking forward to autumn and winter. If you enjoy Tina Fey’s wit but feel flat about her humor (🙋🏻♀️), give this a go!

The Residence! Hysterical and binge worthy.
Really enjoyed Paradise! Can’t wait for the next season.
