What a lovely way to honor the new arrival to a family. Having everyone involved in the meal and then a nurturing women's circle for the mother to be. If I'd ever had kids, this is the kind of shower I would've wanted.

So glad to have the Medicine Swap! I've missed them 💙

I am so excited for the Medicine Swap. I'm a little concerned because I've had trouble getting people to use the Substack website but we will se how it goes!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with the baby shower. Other cultures have such interesting and beautiful ways to support the mother and ensure that she is comfortable and empowered. Thank you also for sharing that beautiful affirmation and for sparking the idea to create one for myself 💙

Can’t wait for the medicine swap! I’ve actually been wanting to learn more about Ayurveda and herbal medicine so maybe I’ll learn a thing or two!

I’m really glad we have reclaimed the idea of ritualizing rites of passage. Of course, a new mother might need some material things (goodness but babies are expensive) but she also needs to feel held. Our American focus on the material sometimes leaves the spiritual lacking. And other cultures definitely have that more dialed in.

What a wonderful baby shower! I have never had children so sometimes baby showers are tedious and I hate the stupid games that are played at some of them. The one you attended sounded perfect!
